Dr. Sheri Gould

Meet Dr. Sheri Gould
Veterinarian

Adventurer | Animal Whisperer

Dr. Sheri Gould has been helping animals live their best lives since graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. With nearly three decades of experience, she’s a trusted veterinarian for everything from playful puppies and cuddly kittens to exotic pets like rabbits, reptiles, and everything in between.

Her days are filled with wagging tails, curious critters, and the occasional gecko giving her the side-eye. When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Gould is out exploring the great outdoors with her adventure buddy and loyal dog, Reckon. She's also an avid traveler and loves spending time with her husband Bill, their two sons Khephren and Kiefer, and the true queen of the household—her cat, Itty Bitty.

Whether it has fur, or scales, Dr. Gould is passionate about providing compassionate, expert care to every animal she meets.

Dr. Peter Schwartz

Meet Dr. Peter Schwartz
Veterinarian

Veterinarian and Jets Superfan

Born and raised in South Africa, Dr. Peter Schwartz spent the first 10 years of his veterinary career treating just about every animal you can imagine—from farm animals to wild African wildlife. He's cared for zebras, cheetahs, monkeys, and even a circus crocodile who once swallowed a barbeque fork (true story—ask him about it).

These days, Dr. Schwartz has traded the savannah for suburbia and now focuses his care exclusively on dogs and cats. After moving to Winnipeg over 35 years ago, he's made it his home with his wife, three adult children, and a deep love for the Winnipeg Jets (yes, he has season tickets).

With decades of experience and more than a few unbelievable stories, Dr. Schwartz brings both expertise and heart to every furry friend that walks through his clinic doors.

Dr. Lin

Meet Dr. Tiffany Lin
Veterinarian

Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Dr. Tiffany Lin has always had a soft spot for animals of all shapes and sizes. After completing her degree in Behavioural Neurosciences with a minor in Animal Biology at UBC, she went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.

Dr. Lin has a special interest in exotic pets and wildlife, with experience caring for everything from hamsters and hyacinth macaws to owls and big brown bats. She's Fear-Free certified and passionate about making vet visits as stress-free as possible for both pets and their people.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Lin loves hiking, kayaking, and rescuing shelter and lab mice—her tiniest housemates. She's thrilled to be part of the Assiniboia Animal Hospital team and looks forward to meeting you and your furry (or scaly!) companions.

Lisa

Meet Lisa
Veterinary Technologist & All-Around Superstar

With 25 years under her belt at Assiniboia Animal Hospital, Lisa is basically part of the furniture – the very essential kind. She's our go-to expert for everything from tricky blood draws to top-notch dentistry, and there's pretty much nothing she hasn't seen or done in the hospital.

In the past year, Lisa has stepped into a management role as well – because why not add another hat to the collection? Whether it's mentoring new staff or helping keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, Lisa does it all with her signature calm and competence.

When she's not at the hospital, you can find her digging in the garden or unwinding at the lake with her husband Loren and their dog Sparky. (Rumor has it, Sparky thinks he runs the show – but we all know it's Lisa.)

Tanyss brings years of experience as a veterinary technologist, having worked at a number of animal hospitals across Winnipeg. Hayley

Meet Hayley
Veterinary Technologist

Hayley graduated from the Veterinary Technologist program at Red River College in 2017 and has been bringing her energy, curiosity, and passion to the hospital ever since. She may be part-time, but she's full-time awesome—and we're grateful for every shift she works!

Always eager to learn, Hayley is constantly asking questions and diving into new challenges, which makes her a perfect fit in our fast-paced, always-evolving environment. She has a special interest in dermatology (itchy pets are her specialty!) and a soft spot for the scaly and unusual—think geckos, guinea pigs, and other exotic critters.

She's also our go-to for all things lab-related. Whether it's choosing the right diagnostic test or keeping up with the latest innovations in veterinary diagnostics, Hayley's on top of it. Her curiosity and expertise help us stay at the cutting edge of patient care.

Outside of the clinic, Hayley keeps busy with her husband Ryan, her children Brielle and Linden and their adorable golden retrievers Finn, Simon, and Arlo. She also loves to travel whenever she gets the chance—ask her where she's headed next!

Cinda - Veterinary Technologist

Meet Cinda
Veterinary Technologist

Cinda’s lifelong love for animals started early — and she’s built an incredible career around it! Graduating at the top of her class as a Veterinary Assistant in 2003, she went on to earn her Veterinary Technologist diploma from Thompson Rivers University in 2007, becoming the first person in Manitoba to complete the distance education program.

Since joining Assiniboia Animal Hospital in 2013, Cinda has loved being part of a team that values respect, collaboration, and appreciates that vet techs are encouraged to use all the skills in their toolbox.

Her experience is as diverse as the animals she’s cared for — from rescue pets and exotic companions to wildlife in need of a helping hand. Before her vet tech days, Cinda spent years showing beautiful Arabian horses, which sparked her deep appreciation for all creatures great and small.

And as for spare time? Cinda laughs, “What’s that?” — she’s always happiest when she’s on the go, surrounded by animals and the people who love them.

Christine

Meet Christine
Veterinary Assistant

Animal Enthusiast | Tattoo Collector

Christine joined the Assiniboia Animal Hospital team after graduating with honours from the Veterinary Office Assistant program at Robertson College—and she’s been a friendly, knowledgeable face ever since. Her passion for animals shines through in everything she does, and she’s always eager to learn more about the creatures we care for, big and small.

When she’s not busy helping patients and their people, Christine is all about quality time with her beautiful children and close-knit family. She’s also a big fan of body art and proudly wears her love for tattoos as a reflection of her creativity and individuality.

Friendly, dedicated, and always up for a challenge, Christine is here to make your visit a little brighter—whether you're bringing in a furry friend or just stopping by to say hello.

Victoria

Meet Victoria
Veterinary Assistant

Meet Victoria, our newest Veterinary Assistant! A proud honours graduate from Robertson College, she is excited to live her dream of caring for animals. Victoria has her Fear Free Certification and strives to make every visit a comfortable one for our patients. When she's not showering her own furry companions with love, she leads an active lifestyle with her family, embracing the great outdoors and creating wonderful memories along the way.

Bethany

Meet Bethany
Veterinary Assistant

Bethany has been part of our team for what feels like forever—in the best way. She started with us back in 2003 at just 21, juggling work and university while originally planning to become a veterinarian. But then she got sidetracked… by fish!

Since then, Bethany has stuck with us through two degrees, a move to Regina (yes, she drove in on Saturdays to keep working!), and a career that now takes her to the Arctic almost monthly. By day, she's the Manager of Marine Conservation for Fisheries and Oceans Canada. On evenings and weekends, you'll find her here—educating clients, helping pets, and bringing her signature warmth and energy to the hospital.

At home, she shares life with her husband Tim, their son Benjamin, two charming cats (Franky and Ron Weasley), and two lovable dogs (Scout and Dory). Bethany is here because she loves it—and we love having her.

Mercedes

Meet Mercedes
Veterinary Assistant

Mercedes brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in veterinary care to the team at Assiniboia Animal Hospital, where she’s been lending her skills part-time since May 2024. A proud graduate of Robertson College (Class of 2010), Mercedes has worked in multiple clinics across the city, building a reputation for being both knowledgeable and compassionate.

By day, Mercedes helps clients plan their financial futures as a Financial Advisor, and by night (and weekends!), she’s back in scrubs, doing what she loves—caring for animals and connecting with their humans. She thrives in the fast-paced clinic environment and loves working alongside a team that shares her passion for pets.

When she’s not juggling numbers or nose boops, Mercedes enjoys downtime with her four beloved fur babies: Addie, Ranger, Bacon, and Cricket. She’s also an avid reader and is currently on a mission to master the perfect BBQ—one grill session at a time.

Nadia

Meet Nadia
Pet Care Attendant

With a warm smile and a heart full of kindness, Nadia is one of the first friendly faces you'll see when you walk through our doors. While she doesn't have any pets of her own (yet!), she loves showering our furry visitors with extra love and attention.

When she's not helping out at Assiniboia, you can find Nadia twirling in her Ukrainian dance shoes, getting creative with a paintbrush, or hitting the books as a business student at the University of Manitoba. She brings energy, creativity, and a whole lot of heart to everything she does!

Hritika

Meet Hritika
Bookkeeper / Receptionist

Hritika joined our team in May 2025 and quickly became an essential part of our clinic family. Originally from India, she made the courageous move to Canada in 2023, all on her own, in pursuit of new opportunities—and we're so glad she did! With a background in retail and a certificate in Applied Accounting from Red River College, Hritika brings both financial savvy and top-notch customer service skills to our team.

Though veterinary medicine was new territory for her, Hritika dove into the world of pets, patients, and paw prints with enthusiasm and dedication. Whether she's crunching numbers or welcoming clients at the front desk, Hritika does it all with a calm, friendly demeanor and a soft-spoken warmth that puts people (and pets!) at ease.

She's passionate about making sure everyone who walks through our doors—on two legs or four—feels cared for and respected. If you've visited us recently, chances are she was the first smile you saw!
